✦ Frequently asked

Common questions

  • What is Bluosa?

Bluosa is a free marketplace for mat sports. It's a gym directory and seminar booking site covering Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ), muay thai, wrestling, judo, MMA, and yoga. Find gyms near you, follow your favorite instructors, and book seminars directly from the people teaching them.

  • Is Bluosa free to use?

Yes. Bluosa is free for everyone — free for athletes to find gyms and book seminars, and free for instructors to create profiles and post their own seminars. Bluosa never takes a cut of ticket sales.

  • How do I book a BJJ or muay thai seminar?

Go to the Seminar Finder, pick a sport chip (BJJ, muay thai, wrestling, judo, MMA, or yoga), optionally filter by city, and click any seminar card. On the detail page, hit the Register button — it links to the instructor's own ticketing page.

  • Can I post my own seminar as an instructor?

Yes. Sign up and check the "I'm an instructor" box on the signup form. Once your profile is created, visit your profile page and click "Post a seminar" to add the date, venue, price, and registration link. There's no approval process — you can publish instantly.

  • How do I find a BJJ gym or muay thai gym near me?

Use the Mat Finder. Type your city into the search bar (autocomplete will suggest matches), pick a sport chip, and you'll see a list of gyms with their locations pinned on an interactive dark map. Click any gym to open its profile with directions, hours, phone, website, and community reviews.

  • What sports does Bluosa cover?

Bluosa covers six mat sports: Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ), muay thai, wrestling, judo, MMA (mixed martial arts), and yoga. Taekwondo, karate, and kung fu are intentionally out of scope — Bluosa is built specifically for mat sports.

  • Where does the gym data come from?

Gym data is sourced from Google Places (for coverage) and enriched with a hand-curated overlay for gyms the community cares about — including Atos, Renzo Gracie, 10th Planet, Gracie Barra, Checkmat, and Victor Hugo's Six Blades Lakeway.
